I had a great chat with Bill True today about "Incarnation," the filmscript which gets a staged reading tonight at the Ritz Theater in Minneapolis. He describes the story as a romantic thriller about a man doggedly searching for the reincarnation of his dead wife.
He becomes convinced he has found her in the shape of a young girl who lives with a dysfunctional single mother. He decides to help the girl by getting the mother's life straight, which ends up attracting the attention of an FBI agent who is searching for a serial child molester.
True admits it's a pretty creepy story, although he likens his questing central character to the chevalier in "The Princess Bride" who is seeking revenge, but in the end he realizes he's not sure why.
The story seems to be resonating in Hollywood. A couple of production companies have approached him about buying the project outright, but he and director Dean Hyers are keen to develop the project through to the end.
He says the fact that actors John Ashton and Chris Mulkey are taking part in the reading is a good sign, and if all goes well, they'd love to be shooting in a year, maybe even in Minnesota.

For some reason unknown to me, I am unable to listen to your streaming radio feeds. I have installed all the media players: QT, WMP, and Real but sad to say nothing comes up when I click on your links. I do listen to KCRW out of Santa Monica however and am starting to enjoy public radio programming from all over the country on iTunes. Just can't get anything from MPR.
