Just one for the memory books: sitting in an Edinburgh movie-house in a row of four people, about 2/3 of the way through 'Mama Mia,' I looked round and saw something I hadn't seen in a while.
Everyone was crying.
Maybe it was the day. Maybe it was that we are all in our 40's and we got snagged by some sentimental barb. Maybe mortality just came up and stared us in the face.
But as Meryl Streep sang to her daughter the dams broke and the tears washed down. It was quite pleasant in a way.
