Like many first time movie makers Christopher Harmon of Burnsville is facing the challenge of raising development money for his movie, while also finding a director and other crew to make the film itself.
It's a tough job at the best of times, but Harmon faces the additional challenges of being quadriplegic, deaf, and legally blind. He breathes with the help of a respirator, and speaks through translators who lip-read and sign.
Yet none of this is stopping him from plowing ahead on his project " Sparkle Serena," a family film about overcoming great odds. With a screenplay already written, he's interviewing director candidates. He's also planning a fundraiser in August with comedian Emo Phillips to get some of that development money in hand.
We'll run a piece about Harmon in the next week or so.
