Sitting in an airport yesterday waiting for a delayed plane to board, my beloved pointed out a potential new amusement: watching people watching movies.
In a number of seats around us, various geared-up folks were clearly enjoying some sort of video entertainment on their laptops or portable DVD players. Of course they were all wearing headphones, and while we could see their faces, we couldn't see what they were watching.
The human face changes a great deal while watching a movie. We saw looks ranging from wry amusement, mild horror. Or it could have been mild boredom too.
Usually these expressions are hidden in the dark of a theater or a TV room. It's strange to see them, floating around a waiting room.
