It's the horrible story of the Japanese invasion of China in 1937 and the subsequent massacre of thousands of Chinese civilians and the tens of thousands of rapes of women and girls that happened at the same time.
The directors tell the tale using archival footage, and interviews with survivors, who are still overcome with emotion when relating what they lived through.
It's held together with a slew of actors who deliver the words of other witnesses now long dead.
It's powerful stuff.
The film won't open locally until next February, but we'll be hearing a lot about this one in coming months.
