This weekend is a real quandary: once again so many films to see and so little time (plus a pile of DVD's to work too.)
"Ocean's 13" has a certain boyish attraction, or maybe that should be 'laddish.' "Paprika" hasn't been getting great reviews, although it has been held out as a possibility for fans, which intrigues me. "Crazy Love" looks like a great film, if perhaps a little strange as a date movie, although you really have to be in the right mood for a documentary about a scandalously violent love affair. There's "Surf's Up" for the penguin set (that tragically strong film-going group,) and I want to learn more about "Disappearances" which looks intriguing.
But rather than make any decision I wanted to just leave you with my favorite image from the week.

I attended the St Paul Central High School Graduation Lock-in on Tuesday night. The new graduated went wild all night and had a very spirited good time. The one place they were quiet though was in the impromptu movie theater set up in the school dance studio. With a floor covered in gym mats and piles of cushions students stopped by to watch DVD's and generally flake out. At one point though the door burst open and a young lady wearing hijab called out she really wanted to see "Casino Royale" right now. The other youngsters agreed and she found a place amongst them, only to get up again when she realized she needed candy for the full experience. She headed out the door as the film changed.
I never heard whether she saw it or not.
