Looking at the Pirates numbers
Posted at 6:05 PM on May 29, 2007 (1 Comments)
"POTC:At World's End" didn't beat Spidey III for opening weekend at the US box office, despite better reviews. The world-wide figure being bandied around today put the global box office so far at $404 million.
It will be interesting to watch the numbers as the weeks go by however. Just anecdotally it seems there are a fair number of people going for a second piratical helping because they want to work out all the plot wrinkles.
While summer blockbusters always invite repeat business, this may be a little different and could provide some box office floatation.
It can only be a matter of time too before someone sets up a Pirate-a-thon and shows all three back-to-back.

Well I hope so! Those movie marathons are fun, and its always interesting to see a series as a whole. Def. a different perspective on the filmmaking itself.
