Documentary: The James Longley "Iraq in Fragments" story is up on the web. The movie opens this weekend at the Bell Auditorium on the U of M Minneapolis campus.
Animation:Brent Green makes artsy cartoons that revel both in their professionalism and amateurism. "Pauline Hollers" which is a strange Appalachian folk tale about a wayward boy who dies and goes to hell, is a mixture of stop action and hand drawn animation. Green creates beautifully horrific figures from found objects, but also has no problem showing the tape he's used to hold his animation cells in place. Green will introduce his work at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis tonight. The event is free.
Feature: And if you missed it, make sure you check out the conversation with Chris Cooper NPR aired this morning about his new movie "Breach." (Make sure you listen to it though, if you can as opposed to reading it.)
