Heaping helping of spaghetti (western music): I've been a fan of Ennio Morricone ever since I heard the theme for "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." It's great news that he is getting the special lifetime achievement Oscar this year, only the second time such an award has been made to a film music composer. NPR film music critic Andy Trudeau did this cracking retrospective of his work on Weekend Edition Sunday. It's well worth a listen. He starts his annual review of the Oscar nominated film scores this coming Sunday.
Happy together: I jumped on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle bandwagon, when it was a comic book, long before a TV series was glimmer in Kevin Eastman's eye. I jumped off again when it went massive. I have to grudgingly admit the new trailer looks kinda fun though.
