My thanks to my MPR colleague Michael Wells for pointing out this excellent dissection of the differences between British humour and American humor. It's written by Simon Pegg, he of "Shaun of the Dead" fame.
(An aside: If you visit the official "Shaun of the Dead" site, make sure you head over to the left hand side of the page and click on the dartboard to play the disgustingly amusing "Shaun of the Dead" game. There is another version on the British site. )
There you have it: from highbrow to lowbrow in four sentences.
