Three sets of awards came out in the last 24 hours: the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, the American Film Institute, and the New York Film Critics Circle.
"Letters from Iwo Jima" Clint Eastwood's second movie in as many months on the bloody battle in the Pacific which opens Dec 20th did well, as did "The Queen." Forest Whitaker also gets a couple of nods for his portrayal of Idi Amin in "The Last King of Scotland."
These are the opening salvos in the long campaign which leads up to the Oscars which will be presented on February 25th.
Dare I say I am queasy already?
