Isn't it strange how long it takes for word to get out about losses in the film world? First there was the slow spread of word about Sven Nykvist. Now the Pioneer Press ran an obit for "Battle of Algiers" director Gillo Pontecorvo this morning. But apparently he died last week. The Guardian has a great appreciation.
The Greatest Generation Film Festival sounds like it was a great success. Organizer Randal Dietrich sent across the competition results a few days ago and I have been remiss in not posting them. He also sent an extensive list of additional screenings around the state in coming weeks where you can see a selection of the entries.
