If you didn't hear it this morning check out Renee Montagne's interview with Hanif Kureishi, he of "My Beautiful Laundrette" and "My son the fanatic" fame. In it he reflects on his work particularly in the light of the recent allegations of a terror plot in London involving British citizens of Pakistani descent. It's interesting stuff.

There's not much on the Walker website yet, but the "Heroic Grace: Chinese Martial Arts Films" series scheduled for weekends in September and October looks like it has real potential.
Drawn together by the UCLA Film Archive this is acually the second "Heroic Grace" tour, with a wide range of films drawn from the legendary Shaw Brothers Studio in Hong Kong. You can get a rundown of the films on the UCLA site (make sure you click on "Film notes.")
The Walker series includes 10 of the films, featuring the work of directors Zhang Che, Chu Yuan, Chung Chang-wha and Lau Kar-leung.
