With all the multiplexes, video stores and piles of DVD's lying around the question has to be asked: how much is too much? Is there a limit to the amount of film a human being can absorb in a given day or week?
I have, on days when the rest of the family is out of town, carefully planned out a movie marathon, taking in three movies in a theater (no DVD's, that would be cheating.) To get the full effect it's best to see the films at different places. The trip between is cleansing for the cinematic palate.
Admittedly, the few times I've done it, it's been a mixed experience. Sometimes it's great, as the experience builds from one film to the other. Yet just as often it's a little disappointing, as a weak flick can poison the whole mix.
Anyone else ever try this?
I also ask because it's clear people are using movies in different ways and I have a feeling it's going to change the whole movie world quicker than we might think.
