Wildflower seeds
Twenty-five types of wildflower seeds ready for dispersing in the yard

I've gone wild.

This is the time of year to lay down those seeds for an early spring. Seems that no matter how many perennials or bulbs I plant, there is always room for suprise little annuals to pop up among them. There is no way to get that natural look from planting annuals that you buy in bunches after the thaw, and it is expensive and labor intensive to put them all in. The solution is wildflower seed.

See my previous post Wildflower Garden

Sprinkle the seeds around the garden, and then tamp them into contact with the soil. Or get your 3-year-old kid to stomp all over the ground -- they'll think it is fun.

I bought this mix from American Meadows.
