After a week of an ongoing conversation on taxes and spending at our website for engagement, Insight Now (see a wrap-up here), we wanted to take some of the points raised about tax reform to someone deeply involved in it. On March 25, we held a live online forum with John James (click here for his bio).

He now runs an organization called "Sensible Tax and Fiscal Systems", which wants to change tax systems in the state.

Below is a one-hour conversation that asked James - how should we define tax reform? What is doable with state finances in the red?
