We began the latest podcast with Ellis Cose, Newsweek columnist and author (among other books) of "The Envy of the World: On being a black man in America."
As the national conversation veered off into the White House beer choices, Ellis helped us reflect on what actually happened -- the historical and social context of the Henry Louis Gates Jr. episode:
In that moment, Gates chose his words with some amount of thought: "Is it because I'm a black man in America?" That's heavy stuff. Thanks to Ellis Cose for talking us through the implications. (Image via EllisCose.com)
