Housekeeping, transactions and new managers

Posted at 6:09 PM on February 16, 2007 by Bob Collins

  • The 5 pm deadline passed for free agent claims and 8 teams have made changes. Rep. Steve Gottwalt was picked up in both leagues. Curiously, my "pick to click" -- Sen. Linda Higgins -- went unclaimed. After a slow start, Higgins is poised to be the second legislator to have 100 bills filed, with only 9 being heard in committee so far. Seems like points waiting to happen to me, but what do I know? The transactions are on the Gold and Maroon transactions pages. Team pages have also been updated.

  • We welcome Brian Hanf as a new manager in the MFL. Brian will take over the former Moderates Mayhem franchise and it is now known as the Trail Blazers

  • Julia sent e-mail out to everyone today, we're trying to identify managers who may not be actively managing their squads. We plan to make these teams available to anyone who wants to get into the MFL. If you're interested in joining us, send an e-mail to Bob Collins. Be sure to read the rules page and FAQ page first.

  • The Legislature is in session on Monday, including an unusual 6 p.m. floor session in the House. Next week looks to be very busy. The smoking ban is back before a Senate committee and the renewable energy standards are up for debate. Be sure to listen to Tom Scheck's Capitol preview Monday morning on Morning Edition.

  • Oh, and Monday will be a Floor Session Palooza Day.
