The week ahead

Posted at 9:50 AM on January 7, 2007 by Bob Collins

The House went into session last Wednesday and, after the formalities, adjourned for the week. No sessions, no bill introductions, so the Senate (which met twice) scored all the points. This week we'll see the first burst of bills filed by House members.

Many of them will be companion bills to some of the big items on the DFL agenda. According to the Star Tribune, one of them will be a transportation package from Rep. Ron Erhardt (Vast Left Wing Conspiracy, TFE.).

You might also find some tips hidden in the Q &A with the PiPress Capitol Bureau. I admit, though, I really miss Pat Sweeney's work.

Tom Scheck also gives the weekly preview every Monday morning on MPR's Morning Edition. Must hear radio.

This week's Senate Briefly is also out. Like its sibling, Session Weekly, always a good read and a really good way to get to know lawmakers, especially the new ones.

So... what do you see happening this week?
