Shows this past weekend Friday night... what can I say? I had the most fun I've had in a long time. And believe me, I needed it. I headed to The Rox in St. Cloud for Mark Mallman. It's always the same faces in the crowd when he comes to town. The St. Cloud kids love to dance, and well, we danced our butts off to Mark Mallman. He played a new song, which I totally loved. I can't remember what it was called, but I DO remember that it was wonderful. Saturday night was the Tracy Bonham and Martha Wainwright show at The Fitzgerald here in St. Paul. First of all, thanks to everyone who came out. It was a great show, nice and relaxing, chilled out environment. All though, I have a hard time behaving myself at shows that are more laid back. I want to stand up and cheer and shake it. Anyway, before the show I was able to chat a little with Tracy Bonham. She remembered me from the last time she was in town, and I felt all special. I must say, I loved Martha Wainwright's personality. Very cool, very comfortable in her skin and not afraid to just say what was going on in her head. Martha Wainright will be back in April at First Ave with Neko Case. I would recommend that show to anyone. I'm hooked on a band called Eagles of Death Metal at the moment. They're just pure, crazy fun. Speaking of which, Mark Mallman will be playing with them at South By Southwest down in Texas. I would like to write an open letter to all my co-workers who will be down there for the festival. "Dear friends, I am jealous of you. From, Jill" Happy Monday. It's my goal to ruin my diet today.
