Fat bottomed girls Obviously I know that Queen with Paul Rogers is not The real Queen, but as I've said this is as close as I'll ever get to seeing them. I never saw the Clash and now never can.
Sublime Not to rub salt in the wound, but I saw Queen twice w/ Freddie. Fabulous shows. Band I can't see? XTC.. Had the chance in Jr. High, but my mother wouldn't let me go. Therapy is coming along nicely, thank you. The Jerry Garcia Band I even had tickets, but a holy terror of a snow storm kept me from going. Trev Sniff. I was just Wheat's caller #9. I was trying really really hard to win those tickets! I never got to see Queen live, and granted Paul Rogers isn't the same as seeing Freddie, but would still love to see them and hear all those great old songs. Fat bottomed girls, get on your bikes and RIDE!!! I regret skipping a $4.00 Feelies show at First Avenue. I held great tickets to Devo at their peak but it conflicted with a high school band concert from which my director refused to excuse me, because, gracious, what might have happened had one of six tubas not been there? I regret skipped chances to see a long-defunct band from Davis, CA called Thin White Rope. And I was but a wee lad while he was still around, but I'd have loved to have seen Professor Longhair play somewhere, bless 'im. For some reason I decided to not go see the Libertines when I had the chance...should have seen that coming... I saw the chickasaw muddpuppies before they became big I missed seeing The Grateful Dead in 1987....my boss got wind that I was planning to skip work that night....and threatened....I needed the money....how dumb!! Really needed the money toward tuition...anyway, friend knew Bob Weir and everything....Yeah..damned crotchety boss with the beehive hair'do!! Erm...Is there a song written for skinny-bummed chicks out there??? Hmmm.....I wonder....not for myself, of course, but I wonder.... ditto on the Clash. Earth, Wind and Fire in their 70's prime. Over-the-top costumes and stage shows. The blasting Phonenix horns in support. Loads of monster funk hooks. All pulled together by Maurice White and Philip Bailey. It must have been massive to see live... Bob Dylan circa 1962-1966 I'm super glad I forked over $80 for two tickets (in 1978!) to see Led Zeppelin at the Met...it was their last tour here. Though no one knew that at the time... Billie Holiday. I mean, she died 18 years before I was born, so I didn't miss it in the way you may mean. But as soon as someone invents a time machine that's where I'm goin'. |
