Nice To Meet Ya Thanks everybody for comin' to our big birthday shindig at First Avenue on Saturday night! We had a blast saying hello to everyone, enjoying sets from Rob Skoro, White Light Riot, Valet, and P.O.S. (who floored the crowd with a practically athletic set armed simply with a mic and his iPod), spinning sets in the DJ booth (that was an honor that won't likely come again in this lifetime), and just hanging out and saying thanks for your support. I also enjoyed catching sets in The Entry by Born Under Punches and Brice after the party ended in the Mainroom. After Lucia remarked the other day that the group Daara J was equivalent to "musical Prozac" after a moody day, I thought of Brice -- those guys have the same affect on me as Daara J did for Mary. They are the "smilingest" local band this side of Dave King. (And who can't smile after seeing a band with a pineapple maracca?) Posted by Steve Seel at 2:22 PM
Thanks, Mr. People's DJ! And a big "thank you" to the Current for giving us the chance to meet the various 89.3 illuminati, such as Seel, Nelson, Mark, Jill, Bill, Mary, and & Mrs. Seel, in the flesh! The party was loverly, the pizza was tasty, the music rockin', and a wonderful time was had by all. Hope you enjoyed your fruit roll-ups! hey. you forgot about the beatifics. or did you not enjoy that set? and when did the "party end in the mainroom"? he he. it was big fun! saturday was my birthday, too! yeah! however, i needed some recovery time. (wow, i havent posted on here in a lllooonnnggg time, but i had to check the post party chat.) Oops, didn't mean to leave out The Beatifics! Their set was great too! Sorry I forgot to mention them. I had a great time at the party, thanks to everyone at the Current for doing it. White Light Riot was amazing, I can't believe I've not heard of them before.
