In my Blue period This weekend I started coming down with a little of the DE-pression.
I ride it for a while and then, on the bounce up, administer large doses of espresso and loud music. BTW, sooo glad to be home from the holiday and to return to the Current. We have it so good here in Minneapolis! In high school, when talking about music in an english class ostensibly covering poetry, I commented that I listened to The Wall when depressed. A guy reacted along the lines of "why not just slit your wrists and be done with it?" But for me, listening to The Wall got it out of my system. A "Hey, look at that guy - maybe I don't have it so bad" kind of thing. After an hour of yelling/screaming along with the album I'd feel fine. One word: Brian Wilson music. Wait -- that's how many words? Man, were we starving for MPR by the end of our Wisconsin trip. Triple M in Madison has gone downhill fast, and WPR...well, it's a little strange. When I'm feeling blue I just put "The Wall" on the old turntable. That classic upbeat Pink Floyd stuff always perks me right up! [g] "Love Street" ~ The Doors.....ya gotta dance around a bit like an elf at the same time....trust me; this works. :) |
