Mary Tells It Like It Is

It was a hoot to have Lucia on with me this afternoon. Fun for many reasons, but chief among them has to be her hilarious screed against the Four Non Blondes song "What's Up." Thank you, Mary, for giving voice to something that legions of lesser DJs -- including myself -- have never had the courage to say.

You two work very well together....very soothing; like prozac for the ears. :)

I'm pleased to be able to pin the attempted demise of rock and roll on one person's shoulders.
Linda Perry...I'm talking to you.

I missed the exchange, but I'm assuming that it was a pointed barb at what a crappy song it is and how her voice can make you want to stick needles in your eyes then wash them out with a mixture of Fresca and Vicks Vap-O-Rub just to feel better? Or am I off the mark?

Oh, and the fact that she's now the songwriter dujour for all the little pop princesses like Pink and Avril Levigne.
