Have you ever openly wept at a show because it was that good, or because it was a singer/band you'd been waiting to see all your life?

Yes. At a U2 concert (sorry Danny) in San Francisco on the Unforgettable Fire tour. The album just came out so it was in a smaller venue. When they played "Bad" I was so overcome by emotion that I had tears streaming down my face. It was one of the most moving and powerful concert experiences I have ever had.
My mother wept when I took her to see Neil Diamond about 15 years ago. She was so happy to see him as she loves him so much.

Yes! David Bowie - Glass Spider Tour. "We can be heroes, just for one day" Of course, anyone could just walk up to me on the street, say that line, and I would weep. Oh, yes, I would weep.

Over the Rhine, Bushnell, IL - 7/2000. The sequence of events that it took to bring me there to see them that night collapsed on top of me in the midst of a heretofore (to me) unheard verse of 'Rhapsodie', and I just lost it.

It wasn't so much weeping, but I got a big tear of joy to my eyes watching Angelique Kidjo perform...she's so fantastic!

Nanc, I was also at that Bowie concert. "Heroes" was incredible, and has been my favorite Bowie song ever since. Thanks for reminding me of that moment!

Hey, I was at that Bowie concert too! It was amazing. "Heroes" is my all-time favorite Bowie song.

It's happened several times but I can't remember most of them. Two times I do remember, though, were when I first saw Springsteen ('84) and he was playing "Badlands." It's one of my favorite rock-n-roll songs and he rocked like a man possessed. The other was when I saw the Clash ('82) and they were playing "White Man in Hammersmith Palais." I love the sadness and humor in that song. I was only about ten feet from the stage and Joe and Mick were smiling at each other while they played it. Perfect moments from my youth, I guess you could say.
