Clever Costumes

Anybody go to any costume parties this weekend and see any good costumes? Unfortunately, I didn't make it to any this year, but I was curious if anyone was going to dress up as Harriet Miers.

Did you dress up as anything this year?

the guy who went as Beaker from the muppets to the BSS show on Saturday was very amusing. the band even had to hold back laughing during one of their songs while his huge tall head wandered about the crowd

and this one, while in poor taste, amused me (i have a warped sense of humor, sorry!)

Although I missed out on a costume party last Friday, I've seen a handful already today. The barista at a local coffee shop greeted me this morning in a "glam chicken" outfit. It was as if Ziggy Stardust played dress-up with a young, slim, Foghorn Leghorn. Completely cracked me up. She's had the best costume I've seen so far today - fun for her and funny to people she met. Not enough of those creative costumes around.

I won't dress up but I will be the good neighbor who gives full handfuls of candy to kids, tosses a candy bar or refreshment to the accompanying adults, and tells everyone who comes to our door how scary/beautiful/imaginative their costume is. It is imperative to give out candy and compliments to the kids who actually go door to door instead of to parties. Hmmm on second thought maybe I should don a housedress, curlers, and a cigarette to answer the door. Will people think it is a costume? Hard to say, hard to say.

p.s. I'm giving out Butterfingers and Baby Ruths. Candy selection is *crucial*!

Julie, I agree on the importance of candy selection... chocolate, all the way! I hated going to houses where they gave out suckers. Butterfingers, Almond Joy, Hershey's Chocolate, Mounds, M&Ms... that's what I'll be tossing in the little goblins' bags tonight!

I gave out packs of smokes...Camel straights for the older kids, Kools for the younger kids.

What?!

Is that wrong or something??

Personally, I think the "Beaker" costume would have been a riot to see...
