Boo!

Is anyone going to a costume party this year? Last Halloween I went to TWO costume parties and they are always my favorite kind of party. I was a devil one night and a nun the next...

I'm trying to decide what costume to go with this year. I love Halloween. I don't think I've ever had a bad time at a costume party. I'm thinking about recycling the evil doctor costume, but then I saw a very large and ridiculous banana costume in a shop the other day. The problem with me is that I like to add some blood and guts to my costumes. An evil, killer banana? hmmm. Food for thought.

What's the best costume you've ever had? Most original?

Nick and Nora Charles, the gadfly gumshoes of "The Thin Man" series of movies.

Jill: I think you should go with the banana costume and get a bald head wig and put on a fake beard and you could go as "John Peel"... can you manage a Brit accent?

I've only been to a few Halloween parties and the last one we attended was kind of lame because we didn't know many of the people and they weren't into being too friendly outside their clique.

Drew J: that's an awesome costume set. Love the Thin Man movies.

Costumes...the best one was probably when I was a reject Vegas showlounge singer....I had my hair ratted to high heaven...green eye shadow galour, a golden/purple lame' top and golden high heels and a really cheezy black skirt....and a microphone...which didn't work, thank goodness!

Jill, i need to see photos of your costumes last year!

if i had to vote i'd say be JUST the devil this year.

i have been working on my costume for several weeks now.

i been growing a beard in order to properly sculpt it for my Frank Zappa costume this year.

i was Frank a couple years ago when i went and saw Belle and Sebastian play Halloween night at the Fitzgerald. then i just painted on his facial hair. my friend was a very fetching wonder woman and i think we greatly distracted a couple members of the band. well, mostly she did..

anyway. Frank Zappa will be sitting in with my band, playing drums, on Halloween in the Entry. we are playing with an ELO cover band called E.L. No!

there is a costume contest in the Mainroom!
should be, as Frick would say, a hoot!

About 10 years ago, my girlfriend-at-the-time and I went as Sonny and Cher ... although I was Cher and she was Sonny. It was fairly hilarious, but also fairly terrifying (that's quite some stubble under your pancake makeup there, Cher honey...).

Oh, Danny, you're too kind. I'm not going to be able to make the show at the Entry, but you've got to post some Danny Zappa photos on your blog.

Seel: that's just not..right.. (I'm sure you were quite fetching. Thank goodness you didn't go as Cher in her disco "Cleopatra" outfit)
