Austin City Limits and other going-on's

Good afternoon on yet another cloudy Minnesota day. The transition into Fall seemed to be instant. Bill DeVille is broadcasting live, again, from the Austin City Limits Music Festival down in Texas as I write this. He says the high temperature is supposed to be 103 degrees down there today. Pretty hot compared to our mild mid 60's here in the Twin Cities! I can hear a lot of great music in the background and Bill's keeping us up to date on what's happening at the festival.

The National is here for a live instudio performance, hosted by Danny. It's set to air at 4PM this afternoon.

I love Fall, but this weather is making me want to settle into my recliner with a blanket and veg out. I think I just made a date with the recliner for this evening!

I'm back on the overnights this week. Hope ya'll didn't miss me too much!

the National were really great! i hadn't heard much of their stuff except the tunes i have played on the air which i liked enough. that song about "Astronauts" is very catchy. it is this type of dour pop that goes well with the autumn no doubt. they reminded me of a band i love, the Tindersticks, a little. very Smiths inspired but in a East coast American kind of way. literary and reflective lyrics, lots of major chord changes. really nice guys too!
