Minnesota Music Awards
August 02, 2005

On Wednesday, the ballots for this year's Minnesota Music Awards will be available on our web site. This is the 25th anniversary of the awards, and The Current is pairing up with our colleagues at the MMA to make this year's awards the best ever.

DJ Mark Wheat, heard on The Current weekdays 7 p.m.-midnight, and local musician Lori Barbero will host the awards show. The show will feature a number of local presenters, including musicians, writers and DJs from other radio stations. The show will be held at First Avenue on Wednesday September 21st. Details will be announced later.

The important thing now, is to go onto the website, get your ballot, and VOTE!

The MMA, founded in 1985, "promotes the accomplishments of the Minnesota music community and provides recognition of those musicians who have made exceptional contributions to the vitality of Minnesota music scene." We are really happy to be working with them on this important project.
