Cleaning up after a successful fund drive
June 27, 2005

Thank you so much for your contributions. It is simply fantastic that we hit the goal on Friday. Everyone at Minnesota Public Radio appreciates the outpouring of support we received last week!

Cleaning up after the drive is something akin to cleaning up the morning after a party. Here are a few things that happened today:

- refrigerators that were moved in to hold beverages for 1200 volunteers went back down the elevator and out the door;
- various food items that were not completely obliterated by volunteers and staff were put out onto the counter to see if anyone wanted them;
- chairs, tables, and other furniture needed to create the phone room were folded up and moved out;
- the studios were cleaned up - no more posters, t-shirts, Nalgene water bottles, instructions for pitching, etc;
- I noticed several people cleaning up/clearing off their desks and rediscovering work that had lapsed since before the drive started.

We also had a quarterly All Staff meeting today. It included the HD Radio demonstration we gave the Board of Directors last week, an update on the Board meeting, a discussion of the progress on raising the money for and building our new building, and a chance for a Q and A with our President, Bill Kling.
