« The joys of PowerPoint | Triple-A Conference » New studio designMay 18, 2005 We had our bi-weekly 89.3 all-staff meeting today, and heard the latest developments in our new studio design. As regular readers of the web log know, we are in the process of building a major extension onto the MPR building in downtown St Paul, and new studios are part of the picture. One thing that happened is that some of the studio design was well underway before KCMP even went on the air. A few weeks ago our Technology staff sat down with the 89.3 DJs and talked about what was being planned. It was really interesting, because (surprise) DJs have very strong preferences when it comes to things like standing up versus sitting down while they work. So Technology came up with a creative solution for the 89.3 studios. A simple hydraulic system will allow enought adjustability to accommodate the preferences of the individual who is on the air. That way, if you like to stand, you can. But if you don't, you won't have to. Excellent. Steve and I also spent an hour with our Marketing Research folks, who walked us through the details of our first Arbitron report. Posted by Sarah Lutman at 06:10 PM
