« We want you to go out and hear some live music! | Introducing Mandy Cox » Founding Member VinylApril 18, 2005 Today we can finally announce the full and complete lineup for the 89.3 The Current Founding Member Vinyl. It’s taken us a little while to get all the paperwork and approvals together, but last week we sent the music out to be pressed to vinyl. It will take four weeks for pressing and then we'll rush the records off to all of you who've joined. Here's the line-up: Sam Shaber - "Eldorado" Rogue Wave - "Nourishment Nation" The Owls - "Bury Your Mind" Hem - "Carry Me Home" Andrew Bird – “A Nervous Tic Motion of the Head to the Left” The Hold Steady – "Modesto is Not That Sweet" Chris Smither – “Train Home” Bettie Serveert - "You've Changed" The Spaghetti Western String Co. - "Muggins"
First, we’d like to thank all the artists for donating their performances and songs to this project. Second, we’d like to thank everyone who has become a Founding Member so far. Your support makes 89.3 The Current possible. We think this record is a pretty good snapshot of the station’s first couple of months. All of the performances were recorded right here at Minnesota Public Radio during our first eight weeks on the air. We’re putting it all on orange vinyl in a cool jacket designed by Aesthetic Apparatus, a local design group that does a lot of CD packaging and posters for musicians. Founding Members will also get a copy of the music on CD, so you can keep the vinyl in mint condition. We’ll even put your name on a plaque that we’ll proudly display at the station. The only way you can get a copy of the LP is to become a Founding Member. We aren’t going to offer it for sale at a later date. It’s our exclusive thank you gift to everyone who is supporting this station from the very start. If you are already a member, thanks. If not, contribute now. Thanks again. - Steve Nelson, Program Director Posted by Sarah Lutman at 01:29 PM

Sarah, how long do you figure that people have before the cut-off date?
