Hi Current folks.

This is Zack, the other 89.3 The Current guy at South by Southwest. I'm in a band, too. I haven't seen Thorn (he didn't come to my show), but I thought I might give a what's up to everyone up there.

I'm here with my band Hockey Night after a nine-day Midwest tour. This is my fourth time at the festival, but the first as a performer. It's been RAD. Our show was last night and it was great. We played the showcase for our new label Lookout Records, along with our friends Troubled Hubble and The Reputation among others. There was a nice gang of Minnesota folk there to support us (and yeah, we rocked the house, yo).

So far the highlight for me - other than playing - was seeing Gris Gris at the Club Deville on Wednesday night. They were awesome. Sort of a psychedelic, stomp-band with some real Syd Barrett influence. Today, I am going to see Jeff Davies and later a pop showcase hosted by Anton Newcombe (of the Brian Jonestown Massacre). Can't wait. Calexico tonight.

THE BEST part of being here is sneaking into invite only parties and eating the free food. Maybe that's what Thorn has been doing. See you guys soon.
