« Thorn and the Fund Drive | THANK YOU » The web calendar and web newsMarch 04, 2005 We just went live on our new community concerts and events calendar. It will take a while to get it working perfectly but we're happy about it and thought we'd share it in its "current" state. Michael Wells, our web producer, has been working on this for weeks, with support from MPR's entire new media division. You'll begin hearing the DJs referring to the calendar on air, and in the coming weeks and months we think it will provide you with the most complete music calendar in the region. The classical music folks will get involved, too, after we work things out for 89.3. Speaking of the web, we got our February web stats yeseterday and that caused a moment or two of marveling. The 89.3 home page was second only to A Prairie Home Companion in web page views. Think about that for a minute. The Current had nearly as many web page views as a weekly show that's carried on 500 radio stations and has a weekly audience over 5 million. Nice. What's particularly fun is that we're barely getting going on the web, we have lots more in store. You must be 13 or older to submit any information to Minnesota Public Radio. Your submission may be edited for length, clarity, or content, and may be posted on this or other MPR Web sites or read on the air. MPR reserves the right to reuse or republish your submission, or to withhold it from publication. See Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. |
