For context, Elliott Carter was nine when the Titanic sank. He continues to compose and is currently working on his third commission for the New York Philharmonic.
Carter born 1908. Titanic sank 1912. How could he be nine years old when it sank?!
He couldnt. Born Dec. 1908, he would have been 3 in April 1912. Still, the point is made. He's really old.
