Hélène Grimaud is not your typical pianist. She likes to take chances. And taking chances is how she ended up making her first Mozart recording not with the world-renowned conductor Claudio Abbado and his Mozart Orchestra, as originally planned, but with the Bavarian Radio Chamber Orchestra.
The recording, simply titled 'Mozart,' marks two 'firsts' for Grimaud: her first live DG recording and her first ever Mozart concerto recording.
Listen to Hélène Grimaud discuss the album and recording process.
