The League of American Orchestras, which is the service organization for, well, American orchestras, has been meeting in the Twin Cities this week. The formal part of the gathering is largely done, but the League website gives you an idea of what the orchestra world is talking about these days, complete with some freshly updated video.
(At one time, a post like this would have been titled "Orchestral Maneuvers," but it's been used a few dozen times already--time to retire that one.)
In other conference news, both the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and Minnesota Orchestra were honored for adventurous programming. Congratulations to the hometown bands!
