If you've ever been driven mad by the same "children's" CD played over and over, the chair of Arts Council England has some advice that could set you free: start your kids on "entirely unsuitable masterpieces" as soon as possible.
In what must have been a spirited address at the Royal Philharmonic Society awards ceremony on Tuesday, Dame Liz Forgan was clear that "Throwing children alive into a boiling vat of great music does them no harm at all."
