Inauguration Anticipation

Posted at 3:31 AM on January 15, 2009 by Ward Jacobson (1 Comments)

I'll be in Washington D.C. on Inauguration Day, no doubt like hundreds of thousands of others, wandering around the Mall with no real plan - just wanting to be part of history.

Supposedly there will be big screens everywhere so that the masses won't miss a thing during the ceremony, which includes lots of music. Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, pianist Gabriela Montero and clarinetist Anthony McGill are all scheduled to perform. And of course, don't forget Aretha Franklin.

I'm excited to hear the San Francisco Boys and Girls Choruses - what a thrill for those young people to be able to perform on such a global stage. As for the National Anthem, it will be in the able hands (throats) of the U.S. Navy Sea Chanters (the official U.S. Navy Chorus).

So are YOU going? If so, what's your gameplan?
