It's a Stradivarius among Stradivarii. Built by the master in 1715, Stradivari's golden period, a violin once owned by Giuseppe Tartini and Karol Lipinski has turned up in Milwaukee, 20 years after it had dropped out of circulation.

It's been a big year for the Milwaukee Symphony--back in January they nabbed former Minnesota Orchestra chief conductor Edo de Waart as music director. He'll start next fall.
