So You Think You Can Conduct

Posted at 1:08 PM on August 12, 2008 by Gillian Martin

"It's a sensory overload, and it's mind-blowing to be at the centre of it. As you crank up the strings, you unleash this exceptional power."

The British have launched another performance-related reality show. (I believe the models for American Idol and America's Got Talent were both British?) The show is called Maestro, and it gives celebrities from various fields a chance to become conductors. The winner gets to lead the BBC Concert Orchestra at Proms in the Park on the Last Night of the Proms in September.

Will we get an American version of this one, I wonder? I'd sign up for it.
