The Guardian newspaper in London reports that Hitler's secret record collection has been discovered. The records belonged to a former Soviet intelligence officer who died recently. There’s lots of Wagner, of course. But the big news is that many of the composers and artists Hitler enjoyed were Jews, including some artists who were declared enemies of the Third Reich.
But the most enlightening response comes from New Yorker music critic Alex Ross, who has a very nuanced, enlightened, and skeptical reaction to the story.
