Who's important?

Why has no one mentioned that the Minnesota Department of Education has shut down and that will have a great affect on all the children and families of Minnesota? Why are Fourth of July picnics and use of rest stop washrooms more important news than that? --Bonnie, Chaska

Citizen Spin is nothing if not appreciative of educators. Spin once had a teacher and with the exception of Miss Fitzgerald, remembers them all fondly. Let's play with time. Imagine it's not the 4th of July, imagine it's the end of Labor Day weekend and imagine school starts tomorrow -- or would except that a K-12 bill has still not been signed. And so there'll be no bus at the corner, there'll be no school and -- worse -- there'll be parents who've been looking forward to gettig rid of the little tykes all summer.

Think everyone would be talking about campsites and rest stops? Nope. Why? Because timing is everything. Miss Horgan taught that to Spin.

Next question, please?
