Health care ruling 'essential step' for addicted: Hazelden

One of the more interesting views on today's Supreme Court's decision to uphold much of the Affordable Care Act comes from Hazelden, Minnesota's famous addiction treatment clinic.

In a prepared statement, Hazelden CEO Mark Mishek called it, "an essential step forward for millions of people who need help overcoming addiction."

Millions of uninsured Americans now can gain access to nondiscriminatory addiction treatment services under the law, Hazelden said, including addiction treatment as part of the "essential health benefits" package to be sold by all health care plans in the insurance exchanges.
