MINNEAPOLIS - One week from today the Twins will embark on a season high 14-game road trip that will take them up-and-down the West Coast and into Canada. To help combat the team's recent road woes, they've decided to take of their home uniforms with them.
"The guys in the bullpen came up with the idea, I think it was Reyes and Bass" superstitious first baseman Justin Morneau explained. "I thought it couldn't hurt, I've been wearing the same underwear since 2006."
While it's been tradition for the visiting team to wear grey attire, it was unclear if the Twins decision violates any Major League Baseball rules.
"What is the other team going to do, they'll be the only clothes we have," catcher Mike Redmond said. "Besides, by giving us that long of a trip they must not want us to win the division."
Manager Ron Gardenhire echoed that sentiment, "I know Bud Selig used to own the Brewers, but this schedule sure makes him look like a White Sox fan."
Too bad I don't live on the west coast. We own a dry cleaners and I sure wouldn't mind cleaning those uniforms! And Justin's whites might need a little brightening up lol
