That may be the sound you hear next year at the Meadowlands. The other sound you might hear? "Boo!" As a long-suffering Jets fan, it's hard for me to get too worked up about #4 playing in New York. On the one hand, they didn't have to give up that much, and they definitely improved at the QB position. On the other, I just can't help feeling that star-crossed franchise + aging legendary QB = major flop.
If Favre plays like he did last year, the Jets will be significantly better. But the fact that he has less than a month to learn a new offense and get to know a whole new set of teammates means that Jets fans will probably see a lot of "improvisation" from Brett. And despite all the rhapsodizing about how he plays the game like a kid, we all know that Favre's improvisation often helps the opposing team. So while this might make the Jets a playoff team, I don't think Jets fans should be making Super Bowl plans.
It's going to be a circus in New York this year.
