I'm not sure if it's because he can't find a good game of shuffle board in Mississippi or the price of gas has taken a bite out of his savings, but it appears Brett Favre is ready to come out of "retirement" and rejoin the Green Bay Packers.
ESPN's Chris Mortenson, one of the more plugged-in NFL correspondents, is reporting that several sources have said Favre has an "itch" to return to the Packers and has communicated this to coach Mike McCarthy.
As a Vikings fan, I can't lose! Either Favre returns and I get to see Jared Allen plant him in the not-so-frozen tundra on September 8 or the uncertainty around Favre's future plans disrupts the Packers' training camp and slows the development of heir-apparent Aaron Rodgers.
Thanks, Brett. I might have to take back some of the bad things I've said about you over the years.
Well, unless Jared Allen picks up his fourth (or would it be fifth? sixth?) DWI between now and September 8th and is rightfully suspended from the National Felon League. I believe Vegas has it at 3:2
Yeah, well Favre's pain killer addition neutralizes the discussion about substance abuse.
I love the original post made by Mr. Rudolph!!
I was looking at this whole situation, hoping Favre would come back, get released, and come to Minnesota.
But No, Even better if he doesn't return to the league!
The Wisconsin Fan base will be rattled by the loss of Favre, Aaron Rodgers will be forever questioned. Questioning himself, the media and fans will question him with "What If's", and the team will be no better than 9-7 with Rodgers,....
ALL CLEARING THE WAY FOR THE VIKINGS!!!
I AM SO JACKED UP FOR 2008!!
