Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau and Torii Hunter get all the attention, but Michael Cuddyer is the most consistent. His .374 on base percentage is second only to Joe Mauer’s .406.
Mauer has played 38 games this season compared to Cuddyer’s 64.
Carlos Silva may be just 4-8, but his 4.20 ERA is below the league average (4.36). Before tonight, he had pitched both of the team’s complete games.
Justin Morneau’s batting average is 41 points lower than last year and his OBP has dropped 21, but his slugging percentage is up 1 point.
In his first three years with the Twins, opponents hit just .187, .183 and .158 against Joe Nathan. This year they are batting .283 versus the Twin’s closer.
Joe Mauer has 29 homeruns in 1,259 major league at-bats.
Denys Reyes had a 0.89 ERA in 2006. He has a 5.40 ERA so far in 2007. His career ERA in 434 appearances is 4.47.
As maddeningly frustrating as the Twins have been at times this year, they are just 6 games out of first place.
There are 93 Twins games left in the 2007 season.
