Road Trippin'

Posted at 1:44 PM on May 18, 2007 by David Zingler

I know it’s chic to bash Interleague play, but I have to admit the Twins/Brewers annual home and home series is my favorite of the year. Being a Milwaukee native, it holds special meaning to me. My brother (Brian) and I are again making our almost-annual pilgrimage to Miller Park. This year we even have additional road tripper – my dad (Jack).

Brian and I were born Brewers fans, but have long been converted to the Twins side. The Old Man however, isn’t changing his ways. So on Saturday night, I’ll be sporting a Corky Miller game worn jersey (GWJ), my Ruben Sierra GWJ will be on loan to Brian and the Old Man will be proudly displaying some (hopefully not too outdated) Brewers gear.

Last year, Minnesota native Ben Hendrickson was making a spot start for Milwaukee on the night I was in attendance. He got shelled and the Twins routed the Brew Crew 16-10. This year, Scott Baker is the spot starter for the Twins and I am hoping the opposite doesn’t happen. Gotta start packing....
