Not a good weekend for the Twins, who lose two of three to the Red Sox (looking punchless in the process) and lose Joe Mauer to the 15-day disabled list with a left quad strain. Chris Heintz has been called up from Rochester to take Mauer's place on the roster. Mauer's injury puts a lot more pressure on Hunter, Morneau, and Cuddyer (who's expected back on Tuesday).
And after Sidney Ponson's performance yesterday (5.1 innings, 8 hits, 4 walks, 4 earned runs), maybe the Twins ought to spring for two plane tickets and bring up Matt Garza.
